The Brew-by-Weight scale uses La Marzocco-specific firmware to connect to your Linea Mini. Standard Acaia scales cannot be updated to gain Brew-by-Weight functionality.

In preparation for the Brew-by-Weight functionality, Linea Mini owners should update their machine's firmware via the La Marzocco Home App to the latest firmware available from October 12, 2023.

Additional compatibility checks are necessary. Here's what you need to know:

For Linea Mini owners with updated firmware:
If your machine is already connected and updated to the latest firmware version (v1.0rc7 or higher), your Linea Mini is fully compatible with Brew-by-Weight. All you need to enjoy this feature is the Brew-by-Weight Scale.

For Linea Mini owners with a connected IoT board, but outdated firmware:
If your Linea Mini has an IoT board, but has not received a firmware update (e.g. "v1.0rc3"), you will need a combination of the Linea Mini Scale and a Gateway. Please note that this installation may require the assistance of a technician. This scenario is most likely if you purchased a Linea Mini that was able to connect, but you never connected via the App.

For Linea Mini owners without IoT Board:
If your Linea Mini is not suitable for connection and you have not upgraded to an IoT board, you will need the Brew-by-Weight Scale and a full IoT kit.

Please check that you meet these requirements before making a purchase to ensure you can take full advantage of Brew-by-Weight.
